Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Rocky Springs Carousel Association! The Rocky Springs Carousel Association relies on the help of volunteers to preserve the history of the carousel.  The Board has formed the following committees to work on projects/initiatives:


  • Band Organ
  • Finance
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Operations
  • Volunteers


If you would like to volunteer to serve on a committee, please complete the form below and let us know on which committee(s) you would like to serve. Your help is appreciated!


The following are examples of projects and activities were assistance is needed:

  • Public or Private Events: Help show and monitor our carousel animals while they are being exhibited. 
  • Staff a booth about the RSCA at a fair or festival, and answer questions about the Stoner Carousel and the RSCA. 
  • Clean: Help maintain and clean the animals, Wurlitzer music roll boxes, and other carousel components inside a Lancaster city storage facility, along with a Board member. 
  • Moving & Transportation: Help load, unload or transport carousel animals or carousel components in and out of a warehouse.  
  • Carousel Machine/Mechanical/Electrical: Assist with work on the carousel machine when we are testing it or setting it up at a new site.  
  • Woodworking or painting repairs: Assist with repairs or restoration of wooden components of the carousel, under the guidance of a restoration professional. 
  • Band organ: Assist with repairs or tuning of our band organ; Assess and repair our inventory of Wurlitzer 165 music rolls (requires specialized experience.)
  • Grants: Identifying grant sources and assistance with grant writing. 
  • Graphic Design: Help design marketing and promotional materials.
  • Fundraising: Make fundraising calls or send emails, under the guidance of our fundraising committee.
