BOARD MEETINGS

The RSCA Board of Directors meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.  Meetings are held on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn at Historic Rock Ford, 881 Rockford Road, Lancaster, PA. You can attend a board meeting virtually. Please send an email to email@rockyspringscarousel.org to receive a link to the meeting.

INTERESTED IN SERVING ON OUR BOARD?

We like to hear from community members who are curious about opportunities to serve on our Board of Directors. We need collaborative, strategic leaders on our team to help us accomplish our mission in the next few years, especially people who have experience with historic preservation, contracts, raising funds for a nonprofit, and overseeing a building project. Service on our Board can be for a period of 1 to 3 years.


We have opportunities right now for volunteer consultants, who can contribute flexibly for short periods, as needed. Serving this way helps you learn about our Board and decide if we’re a good fit for a longer term commitment as a Director. 


Expertise & Qualifications especially needed: 

  • Attorney
  • Builder/ Contractor 
  • Fundraising, grant-writing 
  • Project management 
  • Nonprofit or Business Executive Officer experience
  • Philanthropy 
  • Cultural competence, and respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion  Historic preservation knowledge or passion


Members are expected to reply to communications by email, text and phone, and to access documents in the cloud.   


Board members are asked to prepare for and attend meetings, listen and ask questions, take responsibility for specific assignments, and work collaboratively with individuals and groups. They contribute time, skills, and personal and financial resources in a generous way, according to circumstances. We value honest and friendly communication, principles of respect and inclusion, and seek to be sensitive to different views. 


We strive to host meetings that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. Please make us aware of any accessibility accommodations you need.


RSCA Board members must sign our conflict-of-Interest policy annually.
